PLAYING RULES: (No Deviations – No Exceptions)
Heading: Players at U11 and under are not allowed to intentionally head the ball. If violated, the opposing team will get an Indirect Free kick.
Referees: Home team must supply referees and they may not be a coach or an assistant.
Length of Game: U9/11 - Two (2) twenty-five (25) minute halves – 5 minute half-time interval
Regular season games end in a tie: There is no extra time
Playoff games: If tied after regulation, two (2) 10-minute golden goal periods will be played with teams alternating directions (coin Toss prior to determine possession & direction).
If the outcome has still not been decided, teams will then complete five (5) alternating penalty kicks as per FIFA Law 10-3 “Penalties (Penalty Shoot-out)" https://www.theifab.com/laws/latest/determining-the-outcome-of-a-match/#goal-scored. (Coin toss to determine who kicks first and coin toss winner can decide to shoot 1st or 2nd)
If the score remains tie, both teams will take one (1) alternating penalty kick until a winner is determined
*ONLY players on the field at the end of play may participate in the Penalty Kicks
FIFA Rules apply to all games… (with the following modifications)
Offside: No offside in U9/11, coaches should still be instructing players on offside and discouraging it during games. We ask that you teach and instruct players in regards to the offsides rule at practice.
Fouls: U9/11, All free kicks are indirect, there are no penalty kicks. If a foul is committed in the penalty area, the ball will be placed at the top of the penalty area, straight out from where the foul was committed, and it shall be an indirect kick.
Substitutions: U9/11 - Allowed on goal kicks, after a goal is scored, and on your own throw in. They are also allowed on opponents throw in IF opponent is also substituting. The coach must signal a substitution request to the referee who in turn must grant permission for the player to enter the field. Players are to leave and enter the field at mid-field.
Throw-Ins (U9 only): If a player commits an illegal throw in, the player will be allowed to take to retake it. If the re-throw is illegal a second time, the opposing team will be awarded the throw-in.
Coaches: Are not permitted on the field during the game and must stay within coaching area, unless called on by the referee. They are responsible for fan conduct; and MUST be registered with Risk Management
Players: No jewelry is allowed to be worn unless for medical purposes. If medically necessary, it must be taped and secured to the body so as not to be a safety concern to any player
Fans: Must sit on opposite side of player’s bench. They may not sit behind the goals. Also, no artificial noisemakers allowed (cowbells, airhorns, etc.)
REPORTING OF GAME RESULTS: Home team is responsible to enter the score within 48 hours of completion of the game and is done through the Home team's coach's profile on Gotsport
· Scores and standings are available on the schedule page
· Failure to report the score within 48 hours of the game time will result in a $10 league fine.
· FOR POOR WEATHER on DAY OF GAME – Home team shall call visiting coach and the referee coordinator two hours prior to game time.
· FOR RESCHEDULING A GAME – Home team coach must contact the opposing coach in order to work out a new date and time. Once confirmed, the league scheduler is to be contacted for all U9-U15 games at paul@nlsoccerclub.com. The referee coordinator is to be contacted for all U13,15, and 19 games at lvyslrefassignor@outlook.com.
